So now that you’ve got a good idea on what you’re going to be for Halloween; not it’s time to make your costume crazy by purchasing some special contact lenses. We’re not talking corrective lenses baby, we’re talking scary and demented looking lenses.

Years ago, special contact lenses use to cost a lot of money. Nowadays you can find contacts for cheap. If you don’t have a lot of experience of putting contacts in, here are some tips to keep in mind:

First off, be sure to wash your hands before you put your contacts in. You want to make sure that your hands are clean from any dust, make up, or other irritants. When you dry your hands, don’t use something like tissue or anything that may add any irritants to your lenses.

Before and after applying your lenses be sure to clean the contacts with a saline solution. Once you have your hands and contacts clean, be sure that you know what contact goes into what eye. If you didn’t know that there are contacts for the left eye and the right eye, now you know. Find out which one goes into what eye.

Now it’s time to put the contact on the tip of your finger. Use the dominant hand to avoid shaking, or dropping the lens. Be sure to make sure that you lens is face up and not sticking to the tip of your finger.

With the other hand, use one finger to lift your eyelid up and use another finger to bring the other eyelid down. Now it’s time to put the contact into your eye. It helps if you look up while applying the contact lens. When you put the lens in your eye, try not to jerk or blink. After it’s in, slowly slide the lens to the center of your eyeball.

Once you have the lens in, slowly let go of your lower eye lid. Doing this will prevent an air pocket getting in between your eye and the lens.  Now begin to blink slowly. Notice any pain in your eye? If you notice any discomfort, take the lens out and try it again. There’s a possibility that the lens was put in wrong.

The best advice that I could give you is to put the contact lenses in your eyes before applying any make up. This will prevent make up getting into your eyes.

Adding Halloween contact lenses to your costume will make your costume way cool.
